If you are using Jeenie on a Consumer or Business Pay-As-You-Go plan, Jeenie may run a temporary authorization charge to your payment method on file when you start a new on-demand call.
This process is similar to how gas stations run a $1 authorization charge on your card as you begin to pump your gas.
The charges are voided immediately if there is no connection made with an interpreter or if a connection is made and your account balance is sufficient to cover the cost of the call. This is a safety measure to prevent system abuse, but they are not real charges.
📌 NOTE: For credit cards, the authorization amount is $1 - $2, and for debit cards and PayPal the authorization amount is $10.
Banking alerts are often triggered by the authorization charge, but not when the system voids the charge. This can lead to the impression that we are charging more than we are. You should see that the authorization hold was fully cancelled once your call was cancelled or ended.
Business Accounts:
You will charged for the actual time connected to an interpreter.
Consumer Accounts:
You will only be charged for Jeenie call time that exceeds your balance of minutes during a live interpreter call.
